Knowledge vs. Experience

Most recovery centers offer their clients knowledge about the 12 Steps. Many centers provide a Big Book and some even offer the opportunity to have some cursory involvement with the Steps. At Spearhead Lodge, we believe it is vital for each client to have a full experience with the 12-Step process.

Experienced 12-Step Mentors will take each client through the process of the 12-Steps as outlined in our program timeline. The end result is typically a profound change in perception.

The Big Book describes this experience on page 27. It says “ideas, emotions, and attitudes which were once the guiding forces of the lives of these men are suddenly cast to one side, and a completely new set of conceptions and motives begin to dominate them.” This description of a spiritual experience is often necessary for permanent recovery from addiction

Through our proven 12-Step curriculum and emphasis on spirituality, clients of Spearhead Lodge will learn and grow in early recovery. We encourage 12-Step involvement on a daily basis during and after primary treatment.
