Tolerance…
Tolerance is not ability to tolerate a person or situation, it is the ability to place yourself in someone else’s shoes and understand with compassion. It leaves no room for ego. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to take our own inventory. It is then that I see the glaring defects of character within myself that I frequently see in others. Then I can more readily gain acceptance around others shortcomings when I am faced with my own.
3 C’s of Al-Anon
- We didn’t CAUSE it
- We can’t CONTROL it
- We can’t CURE it
AND WE WON’T CONTRIBUTE TO IT TODAY
Questions to Consider This Week
- Where am I lacking tolerance or intentionally withholding tolerance with the people in my life?
- Can I see that when I place my expectations in God’s hands that He allows tolerance to take hold in my heart?
