One of the benefits of attending BRC Recovery is that while two feet are planted squarely in the process of recovery, residents have the opportunity to participate in community events that fold in perfectly with the new life skills and principles that sustain us.
One such event, is Chuy’s Blue Santa Parade, otherwise known as “the children giving to children” parade. BRC Recovery residents will take part in the meaningful spirit of the season, helping children hone the skill of charity.
The parade starts at the State Capitol today and marches south to Cesar Chavez St., where children have the opportunity to give toys to other children in need. One of the most fundamental lessons of recovery is that to keep what we have, we have to give it away.
This parade is just one way BRC Recovery demonstrates that; and the gifts are entirely reciprocal. In the practice of giving, we become transformed ourselves.
